COVID POLICY & PROCEDURES
My priority is to keep you as safe as possible. I have taken every advisable and mandated safety precaution as outlined by the Government. In addition to these protocols, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course, which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have a number of procedures in place which you will find below.
COVID Vaccination & Testing
I have had both doses of the COVID vaccination and I test myself every week day with lateral flow tests at home. I have the Track and Trace alerts set up on my phone for my own safety and a QR code check-in for clients when they arrive (see 'arriving for your massage').
If I feel ill, have symptoms of COVlD-19 or have a positive COVID test result, I will self-isolate immediately and discontinue operation. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again as and when appropriate. You will be able to ask for a full refund of any deposit/total amount paid at the time of booking.
If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I have amended my booking terms and conditions, and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness apart from ‘no shows’. You will also be sent a COVID health questionnaire 24 hours prior to your appointment which you are required to complete or else I cannot proceed with your appointment.
Arriving for your massage
I have increased the frequency of cleaning, including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using industry-specific disinfectant products between each client. I ask that you scan the NHS Covid-19 Track and Trace QR code when you arrive.
All equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.
Wherever possible, I will utilise environmentally, friendly, single-use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use to protect you from cross-infection, i.e. Couch Roll & disposable hand towels for the client’s use in the bathroom.
You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with as soon as you arrive, and hand sanitiser is also available for you.
You will be required to wear a face mask for the duration of your massage, I will of course be wearing one too to ensure safety precautions are adhered to.
I can confirm that the laundering of towels and clothing when worn is a priority I can assure you that all laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.
All disposable items are bagged, safely removed from the treatment area between each client and disposed of accordingly.
I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments, and I am confident that I can continue to provide these safely with minimal impact to your relaxing massage. With the inclusion of all of the above procedures, all available avenues have been covered.
During your treatment
I understand the importance of hand hygiene, and we will ensure that I wash my hands in accordance with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.
I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments, please let me know, and I will do what I can to satisfy any additional concerns you have.
After the treatment
I fully understand that most clients prefer to pay cash, so please do not let this deter you from booking. I will have a tray where you can place the money following the treatment, and this will be handled with care. I do ask that if you are paying by cash, that you have the correct amount with you. That said, you can also pay for your treatment by all major debit and credit cards, PayPal, Apple & Google pay.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
Thank you for your understanding.
